Journals with an issue number
Journal or Magazine Article without an issue number.
Databases will cite an article for you. Look on the page for a link to Cite your document. Many databases default to MLA style. Make sure you choose the APA Citation style.
If there is no citation, follow the print format and add the database title.
Example: Jacoby, W. G. (1994). Public attitudes toward government spending. American Journal of Political Science, 38(2), 336-361. Retrieved from http://www.jstor.org.
Some articles online will have a DOI. A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string assigned by a registration agency (the International DOI Foundation) to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet (APA).
